Student leaders are crucial in creating a vibrant campus culture! Each student leader brings a unique set of skills and life experience that shapes the campus and the experience of their peers through programs and events!
What is student leadership?
Student leadership is an engaging experience where you get to work with a team to develop programs that create a dynamic and vibrant campus, all while developing leadership skills, self-awareness, self-confidence, and professional development.
Who can be a student leader?
YOU! All students are welcome to apply to be on leadership.
What are the requirements?
As a student leader, there are a few GPA and time requirements. As a WPU Student Leader, you must have and keep a 2.75 GPA. Student leaders also need to be full-time students (a minimum of 12 credits each semester you are on leadership) and be able to attend all team meetings, WPU Monthly Leadership Development Workshops, and programs as determined by your team.
What do I get as a Student Leader?
Your time on leadership is intentional time to develop your leadership skills, self-awareness, self-confidence, and sense of purpose. You will get to attend professional development opportunities and have time to develop relevant student centered programming.
Through leadership, you will be equipped and empowered to partner in creating an inclusive campus environment. At the end of each year, each student will receive a Certificate of Completion and will complete a portfolio they can use as a resource as they apply for jobs and leadership positions.
