A River Runs by Tirzah Allen

My heart runs like a river.

Pumping,

Beating,

Cascading,

Pouring forth

All the memories of your life into my veins.

I will remember you, my brother,

O brother of mine,

I will breathe life into your name.

When your light goes dark,

When the world fades from view,

I will gather and cradle your remains

In my ever flowing, ever reaching arms of

Blue,

Green,

And Reflecting light.

Rest now, my brother,

In my heart,

That runs like a river.
